The patron of this work, Helen, left me with full artistic flexibility to paint a work of art to capture the essence of the room. I chose to capture Helen and named the work Helena.
Helen loved horses and I it is easy to fall in love with Helen's free spirited positive personality.
I played with the light to give the impression that light was beaming on to Helena, and Helena was projecting colours into the direction of the light. That feels true when you are sitting in a room with Helen.
I also captured Helen's free spirit with Helena's flowing mane.
