The Reverence Collection

Art is a poem without words. The Reverence Collection is my poetry.

Shabnam is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Shabnam trained for over a decade under a tutelage of a master painter renowned internationally for his work.

Shabnam's most recent work – The Reverence Collection – is inspired by Picasso's cubist art, Gaudi's naturalistic architecture, and British Columbia's supernatural beauty, a new style she has named Organic Cubism.

Other than her art training, Shabnam's also holds a Canadian dental hygiene degree and a doctorate degree in dentistry from abroad.

I started showcasing and selling my art in galleries in my teens. Over the years, I’ve tried many different painting styles. Of all the art I painted and shared with the world, I am most proud of the new painting style I created, which I’ve named Organic Cubism. I hope you enjoy it too.

Please let me know  if you would like me to paint a something special for your home.

My story

The story of the new art style I now paint started in Barcelona on a family vacation.  My visits to Picasso’s museum and Gaudi’s Casa Batllo changed my art to what it is today.

Gaudi's Casa Batllo

The exterior and every room of Gaudi's Casa Batllo exuded a cohesive living and breathing ecosystem.

As I walked through the building, I felt like a part of this ecosystem, mesmerized by the vibrant colours and textures.

It was awe-inspiring to witness a building, typically composed of geometric shapes, being transformed into a natural environment.

Picasso's cubist art

During my visit to Picasso's museum, I was struck by his cubist artwork, which showcased a unique perspective of the world through geometric shapes, bolder lines, and darker, subdued colours.

The work felt masculine and structured, missing feminine and naturalistic energy.

The art form

Gaudi and Picasso are my favourite artists due to their departure from traditional art styles.

Picasso chose to abandon realism and use geometric shapes, while Gaudi created flowing and organic structures.

For me, their works are impressive because they defy norms and produced breathtaking art. Their boldness is my inspiration.

Organic Cubism

I saw a beautiful scene outside my studio in West Vancouver. The moving branches of a maple tree contrasted with the green forest and a vibrant sunset.

Feeling inspired by nature and my favourite artists (Gaudi and Picasso), I created a new style called Organic Cubism.

It's been a joy to create!
